Seat Style Options

The Handicare 4000 curved stairlift offers a versatile range of seating styles, features, and colours designed to fit various mobility needs and home decors.

Smart Seat:

A practical and durable solution featuring pre-formed, wipe-clean, flame-retardant upholstery. It is available in up to six colours (Sand, Slate, Cocoa, Jade, Sapphire, or Ruby). This seat also offers a version with additional arm spacers to provide more width between the armrests.

Style Seat:

A more contemporary, hand-upholstered design with an attractive curve in the backrest. It is available in three colours with a PU leather-look finish: Vanilla Beige, White Ivory, and Cherry Red.

Simplicity Seat:

A safe, cost-effective option for users who do not require powered swivel features. It features a neutral sand-coloured, wipe-clean, flame-retardant fabric.

Outdoor Seat:

Features specialized UV-protected upholstery in Slate Grey to prevent fading or cracking in outdoor environments.

Perch Seat:

Specifically designed for users with restricted hip or knee movement who find a traditional sitting position painful. It allows you to travel in a semi-standing position with a shortened seat and a retractable seat belt. It is typically available in the same four to six colours as the Smart seat.

Child Seat (Panda):

  • Target Age: Specifically designed for children up to nine years old.
  • Adjustable Safety: It comes equipped with a specialized adjustable harness to ensure the child is safely secured during travel.
  • Caregiver Control: The seat includes a hand control that allows a caregiver to move the lift up and down the stairs while walking beside the child.
  • Customizable Features: Just like adult seats, the child seat can be upgraded with: Powered Swivel: To automatically turn at the landing. Powered Footrest: No need to bend down to fold it away. Illuminated Footrest: Lights up when folded down to make it easier to see in the dark. Turn and Go: Swivels the seat during travel to provide more legroom on narrow staircases.

Rail Options

The Handicare 4000 is a curved stairlift system that utilizes a twin rail design (two tubes), which is engineered to provide a smooth, stable ride and handle complex staircases.

  • Tight Internal Bends: The twin rail system is designed to navigate the tightest internal bends in the industry.
  • Modular and Versatile: This design makes it suitable for complex curved stairs, including spiral staircases.
  • Standard Rail Colors: The tubes are typically available in three standard colors: Light Gray, Brown, or Black.
  • Custom Painting: Some suppliers offer the option to have the rail custom-painted to any RAL color to match your home's specific interior design.

Specialist Rail Solutions

  • Powered Folding Hinge: For stairs where the rail ends in front of a doorway, a powered hinge can be added. This allows the lower section of the rail to fold up automatically when the lift is not in use, keeping the walkway clear.
  • Standard/Internal Starts: The rail can be configured with various starting options to suit the bottom of the stairs, including "wrap-around" starts that park the lift out of the way.
